Applications are open for the WWF Gustavo Fonseca Leadership Program 2024-2025. WWF’s Russell E. Train Education for Nature Program (EFN) is pleased to launch the Fonseca Leadership Program supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
This competitive program is designed to provide vital financial support for both current and future generations of researchers and practitioners across Latin America, enabling them to pursue graduate-level studies, including master’s and PhD programs. The focus of these studies is on education and research training relevant to the design and implementation of conservation interventions aimed at addressing pressing conservation challenges in the region. In addition to financial assistance, fellows will have the unique opportunity to become part of the expansive global community of Environmental Fellowship Network (EFN) alumni. This network fosters knowledge exchange and collective success, helping to advance conservation efforts worldwide through collaboration and shared expertise. Joining this community not only enhances individual career trajectories but also contributes to broader environmental initiatives by building a more informed, connected, and proactive group of conservation leaders. Through this program, participants will be equipped with the skills and resources necessary to tackle critical environmental issues, driving sustainable solutions that benefit both local ecosystems and global biodiversity. Ultimately, the program aims to empower conservation professionals to make lasting impacts in their fields while strengthening the overall capacity for environmental stewardship in Latin America.
