In the year 2020, Newcastle University in collaboration with the British Council offers funded scholarships to students from China, India, and Turkey who are applying for postgraduate courses at Newcastle University. However, the scholarship name comes from the GREAT Britain Campaign, it is the UK government’s initiative to promote the UK internationally as a GREAT place to visit, study and do business. However, the British Council is supporting the campaign to raise awareness and promote the UK’s strengths in education, English language, and the arts.


Applicants from India and Turkey applying for any Masters program are eligible for GREAT Scholarships 2020 at Newcastle University. In addition to that, applicants must be an international for fee purposes at Newcastle University. In addition to that, Chinese students applying for postgraduate courses on the following areas are also eligible for the scholarship

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Materials Engineering
  • Marine and Offshore Engineering
  • Mechanicals and Systems Engineering

Candidates must have the education equivalent of an upper second class UK honors degree or above. Moreover, the decision about applicants depends upon the academic ability, evidence of commitment to studies and quality of the application.

Newcastle University GREAT Scholarships 2020 is a funded opportunity for international students from India, China, and Turkey. Moreover, the Scholarships amount is worth up to £10,000. Furthermore, the scholarship works as a fee-waiver.
