Responsibilities

Several different intern posts are available, and responsibilities include: work in public information. Daily responsibilities will therefore depend on the needs of the Centre, and will take into account the individual’s background; the intern’s assigned office as well as the internship period.

  • Handle audio editing programs (Adobe Audition)
  • Also, assists in conducting interviews for the programs to be produced, under the guidance of the National Information Officer – NIO
  • Similarly, support the production of different journalistic pieces for the radio program.
  • Collaborate in the elaboration of the social network grid to be broadcast on the radio program’s social networks.
  • Also, actively participate in editorial boards, supporting the radio program Director and the NIO.
  • Likewise, elaborate drafts of different press articles to be reviewed bv the NIO.
  • Additionally, assistance to cover different events in order to make interviews and reports.

Qualifications for Intern – Public Information Call

Education

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Program, the following conditions must be met:

  • Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolling in a graduate

school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);

Or be enrolling in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent);

or (c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation;

  • Be computer literate in standard software applications;
  • Also, have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and
  • Likewise, have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

Work Experience

Applicants need not have working experience to apply for the United Nations Internship Program. Additionally, your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.

  • Applicants must have fluency in English and Spanish for the internship.
