East Tennessee State University invites application from International Students to apply for the ETSU Y2 Undergraduate Merit Scholarships. It is a public university in Johnson City, Tennessee. Despite being part of the State University and Community College System of Tennessee, the university is governed by an institutional Board of Trustees. ETSU hosts the James H. Quillen College of Medicine which is often ranked as one of the top schools in the United States for rural medicine and primary care education.

Moreover, East Tennessee State University aims to develop a world-class environment to enhance student success as well as improve the quality of life. Hence, it works on the principle of diversity inclusion and provides a wide range of scholarship schemes to international students. Among its schemes, it provides International Merit scholarships to students pursuing tertiary education in the USA.

Awards

  1. Will be in the amount of $12,500 per academic year (spring and fall terms)
  2. ETSU offers 10 merit scholarships annually.
  3. Scholarships are payable towards tuition fee.
  4. However, the scholarships are not payable towards service, programs, and individual course fees
  5. Are competitive and will be based on the ETSU grade point average
  6. Will be effective the fall term and for no more than 6 semesters, provided students maintain the minimum eligibility requirement
  7. Applicants may not use the scholarship if charged with Erate or in-state tuition rates.
  8. However, the ETSU scholarships have no cash value

Eligibility

  1. Be current ETSU international students who have been enrolled for at least one full semester but no more than two semesters at ETSU
  2. Likewise, Have a minimum ETSU grade point average of 3.0
  3. Further, Be in lawful F1 or J1 status
  4. Also, Be a degree-seeking undergraduate student
  5. However, applicants will receive scholarships in the fall semester. They will not receive an initial award for the spring term.
  6. Nor will the scholarships cover program, service and course fees; health insurance, housing, meal plans, etc

How To Apply

Applicants may only apply for the ETSU undergraduate scholarships if they meet eligibility criteria. Further, applicants must hold a place of an offer at the East Tennessee State University. The scholarship application is an online process. Applicants must register and fill up the online form along with the required documents.

Application Deadline

Applicants wishing to submit their applications may do so by no later than May 20, 2019. Applications arriving postdeadline are not eligible for the ETSU scholarships consideration.
