As per the ADB-Japan Scholarship scheme, Keio University is offering the scholarship to international students pursuing Masters or PhD degree at the University. Moreover, The Asian Development Bank/Japan Scholarship Program (JSP) offers about 150 postgraduate scholarships a year for studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions including Keio University.

ADB-Japan Scholarship at Keio University

The ADB-Japan Scholarship provides full tuition fees, a monthly allowance for expenses, housing, books, and instructional materials, medical insurance and travel for students at Keio University. For scholars engaged in research, a special grant may be available for thesis preparation. In special circumstances, computer literacy, preparatory language, and other similar courses may be covered under the scholarship.

Who is Eligible for ADB-Japan Scholarship at Keio University?

ADB-Japan Scholarship is available to students from a national of an ADB borrowing member country. Furthermore, the candidates eligible for the Scholarship at Keio University must meet the criteria outlined by ADB which includes:

• Applicant should have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and an outstanding academic record.
• Further, the applicants must have at least 2 years of full-time professional working experience (acquired after a university degree).
• Proficiency in oral and written English communication skills is mandatory.
• Moreover, the age of the applicants must be no more than 35 years old at the time of application.
• The applicant must be in good health.
• Furthermore, the applicant must agree to return to his/her home country after completion of studies, and contribute to the development of his home country.
• Executive Directors, Alternate Directors, management and staff of ADB, consultants, and relatives of the aforementioned are not eligible for this scholarship.
• Applicants living or working in a country other than their home country are not eligible for this scholarship. If from another Developing Member Country of ADB, the application may be considered.
• The scholarship does not sponsor undergraduate studies, distance learning programs, short-term training, conferences, seminars, thesis writing, and research projects.

How to Apply for ADB-Japan Scholarship?

To apply for the ADB-Japan Scholarship, the applicants will require to complete and submit the scholarship application form. Along with the application form, the applicants will also require to provide documentation including academic transcripts, JSP information sheet, Certificate of Annual Income and Certificate of Family Income.
