The U.S. Department of State sponsors fully funded Professional Fellows Program for Economic Empowerment, Middle East and North Africa which is a two-way exchange program. The PFP aims to promote mutual understanding, enhance leadership and professional skills, and build lasting, sustainable partnerships between mid-level emerging leaders committed to strengthening their communities through social entrepreneurship and workforce development.

PFP Fellows are placed in intensive fellowships in non-profit organizations, private sector businesses, and government offices for an individually tailored professional development experience.  They build a broad network with American and other program participant colleagues as they develop a deeper understanding of U.S. society, enhance their professional skills.  American participants who have hosted foreign fellows travel overseas for participant-driven reciprocal programs.

Fully Funded Professional Fellows Program for Economic Empowerment

  • Effective practices in business management (developing a business plan, financing and accounting; human resource management, marketing, strategic planning, and networking, etc.);
  • Likewise, principles of social entrepreneurship and increase the ability to run effective community outreach and public relations campaigns;
  • Best practices from American colleagues in workforce development, gain exposure to models as well as innovative and practical ideas and tools to increase the effectiveness of these programs;
  • Further, increase the ability to think “outside of the box,” and spark creative, innovative approaches to problems, products, and marketplaces;
  • Also, acquire new skills and strategies to engage effectively with policymakers and government officials;
  • Form new or improved strategic partnerships.

Eligibility for the Professional Fellows Program

In order to participate in the 2020 Professional Fellows Program for Economic Empowerment, the candidates must be:

  • Mid-level professionals must be of age between 25 to 35 years old at the time of participation in the program
  • Further, the professionals must be a citizen and current resident of either: Morocco & Tunisia
  • Moreover, the candidates must be proficient in both written and oral English
  • The fellows should demonstrate an interest in participating in a reciprocal program for Americans coming to your country.
  • Likewise, they are currently employed and have a minimum of two or more years of relevant professional work experience;
  • Demonstrated initiative, teamwork, and openness
  • Also, have demonstrated leadership and collaborative skills.
  • Candidates not participating previously on a U.S. government-funded program are preferable.

How to apply for the Professional Fellows Program

Participants of the fully funded Professional Fellows Program for Economic Empowerment can complete and submit the online application to participate in the program. Along with the application, the candidates must provide a CV, a statement of interest as well as recommendation letters.

Deadline

The application for the fully funded Professional Fellows Program for Economic Empowerment in the United States is open until 30 November 2019. Applications arriving after the deadline are not eligible for the fellowship.
