JOB SUMMARY
The Office of the Vice President for Research, Sponsored Program Services, invites applications for a Senior Contracts Specialist to provide advanced-level negotiation. Also, drafting of complex sponsors research agreements, contracts, sub awards, and related instruments.
The Senior Contracts Specialist will participate in the provision of unit services in an effort to maintain efficiency additionally, with an emphasis on expediting and provision of negotiation and drafting of complex agreements, sensitive, and sponsored research contracts.
RESPONSIBILITIES for Vacancy for Contracts Specialist in the USA
The candidates must meet following responsivities:
- Serve as Contracts Professional for sponsored program research and other sponsored project contracting matters.
- Also, provide contracting services to include document drafting, preparation, etc.
- Additionally, conduct direct negotiations on behalf of the University with external sponsors.
- Furthermore, perform initial screening of all agreements with foreign entities or partners.
- Moreover, investigate non-routine issues impacting an investigator’s ability to fulfill contract requirements.
- Additionally, participate in professional development activities in order to maintain and expand areas of expertise.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- J.D.
- Also, one to three years of experience, which includes complex contract drafting and negotiation.
- Furthermore, significant experience with successful and timely contract negotiations.
- Additionally, advance knowledge of legal and contract matters.
- Likewise, demonstrated ability to network and consensus-build with internal and external stakeholders.
- Also, ability to research and assist with the resolution of highly complex issues with legal, fiscal and ethical/compliance implications.
- Moreover, customer service orientation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced knowledge of legal and contract matters in a research setting, federal, state. Also, private industry management rules and regulations governing sponsored programs, including Uniform Guidance and the Federal Acquisition Regulations.
- Additionally, experience working in research contracting.
- Likewise, experience with material transfer agreements, non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, service agreements and research agreements.
