Job Description

The Lab Assistant III will perform work in an environmental research laboratory involving chemical analysis; collection of samples in the field; training laboratory personal; and reviewing and managing data.

Also, activities  involve preparation of routine sample containers and shipping/receiving samples for field collections.

Additionally, responsibilities include sample storage preparation; chemical analysis of water, soils and biological tissues; and interpretation. Likewise, quality assurance of results from a variety of analytical instruments. Project coordination; instrument maintenance. Likewise, training of students on variety analytical methods. Moreover, review data for com pliancy are also activities of the position.

Qualifications

The candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Associate’s degree in a related scientific discipline and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in laboratory analysis, or a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, forestry, or earth science.

Job Specific Qualifications

1 year of experience working in a laboratory or research environment.
