Job Summary:

The Foreign Language department is seeking a Spanish adjunct professor to teach Elementary and Intermediate level Spanish language courses on Zoom and/or on the JCCC campus. Likewise, JCCC is located in Overland Park, KS, the second largest city in the state of Kansas and part of the greater Kansas City Metro. Also, the Kansas City Metro is known for its museums, restaurants, and music and art scenes. Similarly, JCCC is dedicates in creating and maintaining a rich cultural community, with an award-winning contemporary art museum and center for the performing arts located on campus.

Additional responsibilities:

• Provide extra and co-curricular opportunities for Spanish language students.
• Also, participate in the planning and administration of all departmental initiatives.
• Likewise, participate in on-campus events promoting languages.
• Moreover, complete ACTFL online departmental training.

Required Qualifications

The applying candidates for Vacancy for Assistant Professor in the USA should have the following qualification:

• Master’s degree in Spanish or a Master’s degree in a related discipline with at least 18 hours of graduate work in Spanish.
• Also, 2 years teaching experience at the post-secondary level and/or 4 years of high school teaching experience.
• Additionally, ability to teach elementary and intermediate level Spanish language courses.
• Likewise, excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Moreover, knowledge of using technology in teaching.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to teach online using zoom or a platform similar to zoom
• Moreover, understanding of the climate of post-secondary institutions
• Likewise, knowledge of ACTFL World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages
• Moreover, documentation from ACTFL (OPI) of advanced, mid or higher in Spanish
• Also, PhD in French
