Summary Of Position:
Oversight responsibility for cash management and forecasting, bank reconciliations, grant accounting and reporting. Responsible for Office of Management and Budget (OMB) compliance, budget compilation, reporting, maintenance and comparison to annual operating results. Also, oversees and implements financial system updates and process improvement and automation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises the Accounting Office responsibilities for the annual university budget process
- Moreover, maintains forecasting software to support management in strategic planning
- Responsible for daily cash management including movement of funds to support operations and cash flow forecasting
- Responsible for preparation and forecasting of annual operating results
- Similarly, supervises Budget and Cash Management Department staff
- Works with Financial Reporting team to provide budget to actual reporting and variance analysis
- Also, responsible for OMB compliance related to fund draws and returns from G-5
- Coordinates and supervises the recording of financial activities for all grants held by the university. Supervises the preparation of federal, state and private grant financial reporting. Works with the Office of Sponsored Programs to train and support grant managers.
- Furthermore, works with the International and Domestic Studies Offices to coordinate all program related financial activities.
- Also, supervises the maintenance of security in Ellucian Colleague Financials for budget and account information access.
- Reviews and coordinates IT report generation and system changes for accounting in Ellucian Colleague Financial system.
Education Requirements:
- BS in Accounting or related field
- Moreover, MBA or MA preferred
- CPA preferred
Special Skills Or Experience:
- Must possess a high level of proficiency and expertise with Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
- Also, advanced proficiency in designing, developing and maintaining complex spreadsheets using software such as Microsoft Excel.
- Additionally, ability to present information in a clear and concise manner to management.
- Experience with Ellucian Colleague or other Enterprise Resource Management system highly desired.
- Moreover, experience with financial reporting tools compatible with Enterprise Resource Management systems.
- Experience in Office of Management and Budget (OMB) reporting and compliance.
- However, high level of technical skills related to automation of accounting processes.
- Experience in budgeting and forecasting operations and cash flow.
- Furthermore, maintains technical accounting skills through continuing education and professional development.
