Description:

Duties:
- Support the Senior Program Manager in the implementation of IBM projects in the assignment country including border community engagement, capacity building of border management stakeholders.
- Moreover, monitor the programs budgetary, administrative, procurement and technical aspects in line with IOM policies and procedures.
- Similarly, support the Senior Program Manager in the design and implementation of contextualized capacity building activities in migration and border management, targeting relevant project stakeholders. Also, institutions, communities, as well as project staff.
- Likewise, supervise the support staff assigned to the project, and monitor the work of consultants/ implementing partners (IPs) recruited to support and/or undertake specific activities.
- Additionally, draft project progress and implementation reports, propose and implement action to expedite project delivery, and identify and document significant project events, decisions, problems or deviations.
- Furthermore, facilitate adequate information management on project related activities including visibility; regular updates, summaries, press releases and other relevant materials, in coordination with IOM’s Communication team.
- Also, contribute to the development of new IBM projects by supporting the development of concept notes and drafting of project proposals.
- Likewise, participate in relevant meetings, conferences, workshops, working groups, interagency coordination meetings, and other forums on immigration and border management.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Education
- Master’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or
- Also, university degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Experience in project development, management, monitoring and evaluation;
- Also, experience in the field of migration and border management;
- Previous experience of working on border management projects is required; and,
- Likewise, prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Skills
- Knowledge of the WCA region and regional security realities.
Languages
- IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.
- Furthermore, for this position, fluency in English and French (oral and written).
- Also, proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
