Job Summary
The Department of University Information and Technology Services at Columbus State University (CSU) invites applications for an Information Security Administrator with a commitment to service excellence to join the Network Infrastructure & Operations team. In this role, you will assist the Network Operations Manager as a liaison between UITS and the offices of the CISO and CSU Cyber Range operations, while managing all SOC/NOC activities to help solve multidimensional information technology problems, improve customer experience, ensure information security, and generate value for our stakeholders across a broad base of locations and constituencies.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert in network security planning, design, implementation, and optimization.
- Also, contribute and serve as the liaison with regards to information security architecture planning and operational best practices working collaboratively with the university CISO, ISO, CIO and other university team members.
- Maintain SOC/NOC operations with continuous improvement and monitoring.
- Conduct information security analysis and audits on existing systems using approved industry methods.
- Similarly, serve as a cyber security mentor for university students and help guide their understanding of the industry.
- Moreover, maintain virtual and physical network security hardware and appliances.
- Enforce overall network security standards, guidelines, leading-edge practices, and approved security techniques and approaches.
- Perform modeling and planning of security training to maximize security training efficiencies.
- Likewise, evaluate and recommend effective products and platforms to provide cost-effective solutions that meet information and physical security requirements.
- Moreover, develop testing and implementation security strategies. Troubleshoot and diagnose security vulnerabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as computer science, cyber security, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Moreover, five years of experience in one of the following fields: network security administration, computer forensics or security analytics
- Knowledge with Microsoft SQL, PHP, Java, or similar scripting language
- Also, knowledge of a programming language, such as PERL, C, Python, Ruby, etc.
- Experience implementing scalable, diverse, and complex security auditing and training procedures.
- Expert understanding of securing information system firewalls, policies, and networks.
- Additionally, ability to create presentation materials, generate reports, and present to appropriate stakeholders, including leadership.
- Ability to explain advanced concepts to engineers, peers, and leadership.
