Description:
Cuesta College and the Applied Behavioral Sciences Division serves and values students from diverse backgrounds/populations. Skills/Abilities:
- Commitment to staying current with the latest developments in Ethnic Studies and Social Justice Studies;
- The ability to continuously reflect on, evaluate, and improve teaching methods;
- Also, the ability to organize and explain content/instructions in ways appropriate to students’ abilities and learning styles;
- Implementation of critical pedagogy (i.e., support students to actively engage in their own learning processes, promote development of critical thinking skills, and encourage students to become lifelong learners);
- Likewise, the ability to use instructional methods that emphasize cooperation and collaboration, and reflect cultural sensitivity;
- The ability to actively engage students from a broad spectrum of cultural, academic, socioeconomic, and language backgrounds;
- The ability to develop student learning outcomes and methods for assessing students’ achievement of those outcomes;

- Achieving and maintaining Cuesta College Distance Education certification;
- Also, working collaboratively with faculty and staff in the division;
