The Position:
- The Senior Logistics/ Shipping Associate position is located in the Procurement Services
- Branch (PSB) in Copenhagen. The incumbent reports to the Logistics, Inventory and
- Emergency Procurement Specialist who leads the Logistics, Inventory Management
Duties:
- Supervise the Logistics/Shipments Associates within the team in accomplishing the team’s planned activities; ensure the targets of the unit are tracked and met;
- Also, provide guidance and discuss development plans;
- Furthermore, review and monitor performance of supervised team;
- Similarly, serve as backup for team members
This typically includes coordinate the business process improvements whenever feasible, represent PSB in cross-functional working groups, coordinate and make sure the delivery of the workload during vacation times, peak work periods etc.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- Completion of Secondary education is required.
- Also, University degree or equivalent certification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics,
Shipping and Freight, Public or Business Administration, Procurement, Commerce, Engineering, Law, International relations. Likewise, International development, or related discipline would be very useful and weighted accordingly, but is not a requirement.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience preferably in public or private sector
Languages:
- Fluency in English; knowledge of other official UN languages, preferably French and/or Spanish, is desirable.
