Since January 2018 Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has been facing an increasing influx of migrants, asylum seekers and refugees after previously popular migration routes to Western Europe through the Balkans shut down in 2017. Also, the authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) detected the arrival of more than 70,000 refugees and migrants in the country since January 2018. It is estimated that 7,600 refugees and migrants, including some 1,000 children (about 460 unaccompanied and separated children – UASC) are stranded in BiH in need of various types of humanitarian assistance at various locations, in particular in Sarajevo and Una-Sana Canton.

Accountabilities:

• Support the development of PCAs with relevant health partners, identifying the needs, gaps in the health and nutrition sector and advising the Health Specialist and the Emergency Coordinator on the way forward
• Also, provide technical and administrative support to support program planning, results based planning (RBM) and monitoring and evaluation of results.
• Provide support in facilitating access to basic health care and nutrition services for children on the move
• Similarly, strengthening the capacity of teachers to work with children on the move
• Identify possible areas and partners for cooperation in providing primary, secondary and pre-school education and pediatric health services
• Likewise, support for inter-governmental coordination, policy development and capacity building
• Coordinate activities in education in Una-Sana Canton and Sarajevo Canton,
• Coordinate activities with partners working on provision of health services to children in Una Sana and Sarajevo Canton
• Additionally, reporting of UNICEF supported education and health activities in Una-Sana Canton against commonly agreed indicators
• Ensure effective information sharing within UNICEF, and with and among partners
• Furthermore, prepare inputs for donor reporting and UNICEF’s quarterly and annual reporting.

Qualification:

• A university degree in one of the following fields: social sciences, education, psychology, social policy, public health, nursing or another relevant technical field;
• Also, a minimum of one year of professional experience in program planning, management, and/or research in education;
• Likewise, experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset;
• Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset;
• Furthermore, fluency in local language and proficiency in English
