Earth Journalism Network Biodiversity Media Grants 2020

Earth Journalism Network’s Biodiversity Media Initiative project, the program is a new round of grant opportunities for journalist networks, media organizations, civil society organizations or academic institutions that are working to improve media coverage of biodiversity and conservation issues in countries where information is most under threat and most urgently needed. The program supports the awareness- or capacity-building around biodiversity and conservation, network building, content production around these issues, or creating digital or other media outlets. This grant fund up to US$48,000 will be available for the best project.

Alibaba Cloud Global AI Innovation Challenge 2020

The Alibaba Cloud Global AI Innovation Challenge is an open competition for global AI developers, researchers, startups and solution providers to make/or enhance their products or projects based on machine learning using PAI. The challenge welcomes innovative projects powered by machine learning in any field or industry. The following topics are for reference, and other topics are also encouraged. The choice of topic/industry will have no impact on your results. The prizes include $20,000 Cash Prize (Pre-Tax), $5,000 Alibaba Cloud Credits, and $5,000 PAI Credits.

University of Copenhagen International Fellowships 

The Fellowship position at the University of Denmark. The position is part of the AI4XRAY project funded by Innovation Fund Denmark Grand Solutions grant in collaboration with clinicians at Rigshospitalet, a highly specialized hospital based in Denmark, and researchers at Unimed, a company that specializes in hospital management software. The position is available for a 3-year period and your key tasks as a Ph.D. student at SCIENCE to manage and carry through your research project. The starting salary is currently at a minimum DKK 331,125 (approx. €43,750) including annual supplement (+ pension at a minimum DKK 53,811). Negotiation for a salary supplement is possible.

Step Up! Young Health Global Grants Program

Step Up! Young Health Global Grants Program of up to US$ 10,000 to help small, innovative, youth-focused, and youth-led nonprofits to deliver health promotion messages effectively in under-resourced and also marginalized communities worldwide, taking account of the COVID-19 pandemic. The fund is open to registered NGOs and non-profit charitable organizations mangaing youth-focused projects for health promotion or NCD prevention. Organizations might work to reduce risk behaviors in youth that can lead to non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as mental health and neurological conditions, cancers, diabetes and heart, and respiratory diseases.

The WiSTEM2D Scholars Award Program

The WiSTEM2D Scholars Award Program will fund one woman per STEM2D discipline who has completed her advanced degree, who is working as an assistant professor (or global equivalent faculty position), and who is not yet tenured at an accredited university, institution, or design school. In addition to that, the goal is to fuel the research passion of the awarded women and inspire career paths in their respective STEM2D fields.  Johnson & Johnson is looking to identify global women leading in both their research fields and leading as mentors, to be a vision for girls and other women in STEM2D. The gross amount of $150,000, which will be paid to the University (the “Recipient”) for the benefit of the Johnson & Johnson Scholar and her research.
