The Computer Science Department at Harvey Mudd College (HMC) invites applications for Visiting Professor one-year and two-year positions in computer science starting in the 2022-23 academic year.
Most classes are relatively small. The teaching load is two courses per semester, plus supervision of one or two industry-supported senior capstone Computer Science Clinic projects per year.
The Computer Science Department serves three major programs (the computer science major, the joint major in computer science and mathematics, and the joint major in mathematical and computational biology). The department and the college place a high value on engaging students from traditionally underrepresented groups, and candidates from these groups are especially encouraged to apply.
Review of applications will begin on March 4th and continue until the search concludes. Hiring is contingent upon available funding.
For two-year appointments, a renewal for the second year will be contingent upon a satisfactory review during the 2023 spring semester and available funding.
The department will begin accepting applications via the AcademicJobsOnline system immediately.
Candidates should submit:

Candidates should provide at least two references, with an optional third. Any letter writers indicated in the application will automatically receive a request to upload their letters. At least one letter should address the candidate’s potential as a teacher.
