Moreover, the Department of Linguistics at the University of California, Berkeley, is seeking a two-semester appointment for one, full-time (100%) lecturer in Formal Semantics in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021. Additionally, duties include teaching six courses, Ling 121 Formal Semantics, Ling 221, Advanced Formal Semantics (for graduate students), Ling 290B Topics in Linguistic Theory: Semantics (a graduate research seminar), Ling 5 Language and Linguistics, and two others to be determined. In addition, the duties include holding regular office hours, calculating grades, advising students, preparing course materials and exams, managing graduate student instructors, and attending appropriate meetings/orientations, etc.
Salary

• It will be based on the University’s annual pay scale for lecturers, between $56,381 and $63,788, commensurate with past college-level teaching experience.
• Furthermore, UC Lecturers are academic appointees in an organized bargaining unit and are exclusively represented by the American Federation of Teachers.
