Duties

The incumbent will do the following duties

  • Planning and implementing of institute programs, including Youth and Prejudice, Wallenberg Tribute, and First Friday.
  • Additionally, visioning and developing additional initiatives in consultation with the director and advisory board, including but not limited to certificate program through the College of Graduate and Continuing Education.
  • Similarly, working to streamline institute functions with regards to programming and educational functions to achieve maximum efficiency so that resources are responsibly deployed in support of the mission.
  • Attending and facilitating programs hosted and/or cosponsored by the institute, as well as participating in advisory board meetings.
  • Similarly, collaborating with and supervising student workers who are assigned to work on programming for the institute.
  • Working as a liaison to faculty, staff, student, and community in support of institutional mission and goals.
  • Furthermore, perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The candidates should meet the given criteria for the Program Specialist Vacancy at Muhlenberg College in the USA

  •  Four-year degree in the humanities required; advanced degree in religious studies preferred.
  • Additionally, a minimum of 5 years experience in higher education and/or programming in the humanities or related field.
  • Grant writing experience preferred.
  • Similarly, strong oral and written communication skills and ability to interact with faculty, staff, students, and community members.
  • Similarly, strong computer skills required in Microsoft Applications and GSuite; willingness to learn new software, as appropriate, to perform responsibilities of the position.
  • Experience working within an educational context in partnership with the local community towards a common goal preferred.
  • Also, the ability to work in a team environment, as well as the ability to work on projects independently.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Furthermore, excellent time management, project management and organization.
  • Additionally, a basic understanding of a college environment and commitment to the educational and multicultural mission of the institute.
