Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Research Security (ADRS) assists OSU’s Director of Research Security (DRS) in managing the administrative, training, communications, databases, and record-keeping aspects of the facility security program for Oklahoma State University. In addition to other responsibilities, the ADRS will serve as the university’s Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO).
Additionally, this position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) regulations, coordinates clearance applications for university officials conducting or overseeing classified research, manages and maintains the facility clearance, and assists with developing and implementing all necessary program enhancements.

Qualifications for Vacancy for Assistant Director 

Minimum 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in any field related to OSU research strengths
  2. Additionally, minimum of 2 years of industrial/R&D security experience.
    Technical experience in field related to OSU research strengths
  3. Likewise, U.S. Citizenship and a current final Top Secret Clearance
  4. Additionally, basic knowledge of NISPOM, Executive Orders, Industrial Security Letters, and DoD Directives, with ability and willingness to develop in-depth knowledge in these domains.
  5. Furthermore, working knowledge of JPAS, NISS, DISS, e-QIP, with ability and willingness to develop greater knowledge in these domains.
  6. Also, the ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem solving skills, the ability and flexibility to work with a wide variety of stakeholders on conveying difficult, complex and sensitive information, and work successfully in both a team-integrated and independent fashion. Candidate must be proficient in all Microsoft Office software.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  1. Experience working as (or closely with) a university FSO or AFSO.
  2. Also, experience in export regulations to include International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  3. Additionally, at least 5 years of industrial/R&D security experience
  4. Likewise, COMSEC, OPSEC and SPeD certifications
