Responsibilities:
- The Division of Social Sciences and History at Delta State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Sociology, to begin August 2021.
- The successful candidate will teach 12 credit hours per semester, which will include introductory and upper-level undergraduate courses in sociology and social science methods. Likewise, the new faculty member will also develop an active research agenda and engage in service to the department, college, and university.
- Additionally, teaching may include students working towards the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies and the Master of Science in Social Justice and Criminology. Opportunities exist for collaborative research and service with flexibility to work with various centers of excellence on the DSU campus.

Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in Sociology by the time of appointment.
- Also, candidates with the ability to teach courses on social problems and/or sociology of education will be given preference as well.
- Furthermore, a Ph.D. in Sociology is required by the time of appointment.
- Likewise, field of expertise is open, though preference will be given to candidates who can teach graduate-level courses in community development and sustainable development.
