Position Summary

The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management at the University of North Texas (UNT) in Denton, TX invites applications for a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure track) in Event Management and Experience Design. Also, the successful candidate will work closely with the Chair and HTM faculty members to develop an innovative curriculum utilizing the latest technology for onsite and virtual events, enhance the undergraduate experience, grow bachelor’s and master’s enrollment, conduct research in the field and in aligned fields, and grow industry connections. Likewise, the search committee strongly encourages applications and nominations of persons of underrepresented groups.

Minimum Qualifications

• Earned Ph.D. in Event Management/Hospitality Management/Hospitality Administration/Tourism; OR, consideration will be given to closely aligned doctoral degree with evidence of graduate coursework in hospitality field.
• Excellent teaching and communication skills, both oral and written; clear devotion to students and the missions of higher education.
• Also, a commitment to enhancing and nourishing a cultural climate that supports diversity, equity, and inclusion in all facets of the Department and the University.
• Evidence of industry experiences and connections, including a record in working in the event, hospitality, club, resort, tourism, or attraction industries
• Moreover, potential for conducting innovative research and pursuing grants.
• Additionally, a team player who demonstrates leadership, integrity, and collegiality.

Preferred Qualifications

The incumbent must meet the following for Vacancy for Assistant Professor in the USA:

• Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
• Likewise, established record of publications and scholarly presentations aligned with the rank.
• Similarly, scholarship related to event, hospitality, club, resort, tourism, and/or attraction industry.
