Position Summary:

The Division of Accounting, Finance, MIS, and Economics in the College of Business at Governors State University seeks applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Economics beginning in August 2021.

The University is seeking candidates with outstanding teaching skills, interest in non-traditional, and diverse student populations. Also, the ability or interest in teaching high quality remote or online courses, a collegial approach to working with colleagues. Likewise, interest in developing curriculum, evidence, or potential for distinguished scholarship consistent with tenure-track and AACSB expectations for Scholarly Academic faculty, and evidence or potential for substantive professional and university service.

Qualifications for Vacancy for Associate Professor 

• Ph.D. in Economics, ABD in the final stages of completion will be considered.
• Also, the ability to teach undergraduate courses from principles of economics to advanced upper-division coursework and graduate courses in Economics, including courses in international economics, development, and macroeconomics.
• Additionally, the ability to write and publish in professional or academic journals.
• Also, interest in developing and teaching online courses.
• Furthermore, the applicant must meet AACSB standards for a scholarship as “Scholarly Academic (SA)”.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Economics
• Also, teaching Experience or Expertise in International Economics, Development, Econometrics, and Macroeconomics
• Likewise, experience teaching online courses.

Work Schedule:

9 months, mid-August through mid-May. Summer teaching is optional.
