Job Summary:

The Assistant Athletic Trainer & Scheduling Coordinator will provide medical services for Muhlenberg College’s 22 NCAA Division III varsity sports. Also, the Assistant Athletic Trainer & Scheduling Coordinator will serve as the scheduling coordinator of all intercollegiate athletic teams and will  supervise  student first-aiders and athletic training students from accredited programs.

Duties:

• Provide first line evaluation of sports related injuries.  These injuries may occur to athletes both in season and out of season.
• Similarly, serve as Scheduling Coordinator for the Athletic Department, ensuring appropriate scheduling of indoor and outdoor venues for our intercollegiate team practices and competitions.
• When necessary, refer athletes to the proper advanced medical help.
• Provide rehabilitation and treatment to injured athletes under the supervision of a licensed physician. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of electrical modalities, manual therapy, hydrotherapy, exercise, and flexibility techniques.
• Also, assist in scheduling on site medical coverage of all practices and home contests.
• Acts as liaison between the athlete, parent/guardian, and physician when needed.
• Additionally, assist the head athletic trainer in the inventory of all medical coverage of assigned events.
• Assists in the administration of pre-physical and physical exams.
• Likewise, other athletic training related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree preferred.
• NATABOC and PA State Certification
• Also, procure sufficient continuing education units to maintain certifications.
• CPR certification.
• Furthermore, first-Aid certification.
• Strong communication skills.
• Similarly, strong organizational skills.
• Working management, inventory and computer skills.
• Also, ability to work with a variety of people.
• Successful completion of background checks, including but not limited to education and national criminal background.
