Description:

Incumbent must understand concepts of the physics of ultrasound, demonstrates advanced knowledge of full range of echocardiographic procedures, cardiac anatomy and physiology with a thorough understanding of cardiac abnormalities and disease processes. Performs 3D echocardiography, strain imaging and applies advanced cardiac ultrasound imaging techniques as assigned or per protocol. Furthermore, follows established imaging protocols and modify the examination accordingly to ensure complete accurate high quality cardiac echo information is obtained.

Participates in the training of cardiac sonographers, students, residents and fellows in echocardiography as assigned. Participates in personnel selection, may be assigned to review studies, train and direct junior level sonographers in new techniques under direction of technical director. Also, able to work independently and prioritize tasks needing completion. Positive communication and listening skills are important. Likewise, floats to labs in other clinic locations as needed. May need to work various shifts including nights and weekends. Required to take call after hours and/or on weekends.

Minimum Qualification:

• Associate Degree in Health Science.
• Also, if registry eligible, must obtain RDCS credential from ARDMS within six (6) months of hire date.
• Likewise, registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS).
• Additionally, BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Moreover, recent hospital experience as a Cardiac Sonographer.
• Similarly, effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Also, basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualification:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Also, registered Cardiac Sonographer issued by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
• Congenital heart disease experience.

Special Condition:

• Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
• Capability to perform on-call including weekend when required.
• Moreover, employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
