Essential Job Duties

-Provide assessment and mental health counseling services
-Additionally, maintain case management plans for students receiving counseling services
-Also, develop short-term intervention strategies for students seeking solutions for mental health, personal, academic or other concerns
-Likewise, provide crisis intervention services for students when needed
-Refer students to appropriate on-campus or off-campus resources/agencies
-Similarly, maintain accurate records and confidentiality

Assess the effectiveness of services through program evaluation
-Serve as a member of the Behavioral Intervention and Threat Assessment Team
-Also, plan, coordinate, and evaluate mental health programming on campus including, but not limited to, the Out of the Darkness Walk, RU OK? Day, Pop-Up for Mental Health events, and therapy dog visits
-Network with outside agencies such as ADAMHS, Therapy Dogs International, Hopewell Health Centers, etc. to ensure the quality of services at the university
-Likewise, collaborate with academic programs to encourage co-curricular engagement in programming
-Also, provide education and advocacy regarding mental health issues to students, faculty, and staff

Position Qualifications

-Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Social Work, Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, and/or Education); Masters preferred.
-Also, current Ohio License (Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor); actively working toward independent licensure preferred
-Also, the ability to complete annual updated training to maintain certification.
-Approximately 2-3 years prior related experience providing counseling and crisis intervention
-Likewise, higher education experience preferred.
