Duties

Instructional Design & Development

  • Consult with faculty and staff on instructional design and learning objectives
  • Additionally, the incumbent will assist in the development of instructional strategies, course materials, assessment techniques, appropriate integration of instructional technologies and best practices
  • Likewise, he/she will collaborate with eLearning Specialists and the Digital Media team to produce learning materials in a variety of formats including audio, video, animation and multimedia to support teaching, learning, and college information needs
  • Similarly, document instructional design processes and create tutorials as necessary
  • Furthermore, the associate will maintain files and records

Teaching & Learning Support

  • Provide assistance to faculty and staff in technology tools and methods, use of instructional software, and effective uses of multimedia
  • Additionally, research educational best practices, instructional resources, instructional technologies and multimedia hardware/software to support teaching and learning
  • Also, perform observations, reviews of student feedback, and consultations for individual faculty and TAs
  • Moreover, he/she will also monitor course discussion forums, answer student questions, advise students, notify head TAs and faculty as appropriate.
  • Create and manage the team evaluation process for student group work during courses.
  • Also, the candidate will prepare slides for live online class sessions. Provide support to students, faculty, and staff during live online class sessions. Send regular reminders to faculty about upcoming live online class sessions.

Communication & Facilitation

  • Design, develop, and deliver workshops and training to faculty and staff in the use of instructional technologies and educational best practices; maintain records
  • Also, participate in curriculum development sessions, document findings, and write reports
  • LIkewise, collaborate with a team of other instructional designers, accessibility specialists, digital media professionals, and student employees

Other

  • Willingness to participate or collaborate with research initiatives
  • Similarly, serve on committees as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education:

Required: Bachelor’s degree

Experience:

Required: Familiarity with the literature on teaching, learning, faculty development, and course development. Also, they should have evidence of experience in the design and development of online or hybrid courses for adult learners.

Preferred: Experience using new technologies for teaching and learning. Knowledge of instructional design methodologies. Likewise, proficiency in programming using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience troubleshooting technical issues. Also, experience designing courses and facilitating college-level workshops and seminars. Experience working with international students and faculty. Experience in higher education contexts. Furthermore, they should have a familiarity with business education. Familiarity with ADA compliance and accessibility. Familiarity with Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs). An online portfolio of work, a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent communication, presentation, and team skills.

Salary

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
