Summary
Gateway Community & Technical College invites applications for an Instructional Designer. Likewise, this full-time staff position will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students as a key member of the Center for eLearning in a dynamic, fast-paced environment developing and maintaining high-quality online courses, leading technology training and providing technical support. Possible remote work position.
Duties
- Coach and lead faculty through the design and development of online courses while adhering to college course templates and Blackboard Exemplary Course Program guidelines.
- Also, in addition to building the courses, evaluate courses to assure the highest levels of quality.
- Provide expertise, technical support, and training to subject matter experts, faculty, staff, and students who are participating in the development and/or deployment of online classes, hybrid classes, or face-to-face classes, including classroom technology, where applicable.
- Likewise, be the primary point of contact for technical support issues and maintaining a ticketing system for help requests.
- Furthermore, follow usability/accessibility requirements such as ADA Section 508, universal design strategies in online learning environments, student identity authentication, and technology issues specific to fully online education.
- Additionally, produce instructional objects, including video, graphics, and interactive media elements using a variety of digital media editors such as Adobe Creative Suite, Captivate, PowerPoint, YouTube, etc.
- This position will also work to provide unique, custom solutions to making content available online.
- Similarly, stay current with the latest industry tools and trends in higher education.
- Stay current on changing software platforms as well as quality assurance rubrics.

Required Qualifications
The incumbent must meet the following for Vacancy for Instructional Designer in the USA:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in educational technology, instructional design, education/curriculum development, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Also, one year of relevant experience.
- Similarly, strong technology acumen with working knowledge of Blackboard, rapid authoring tools, web-based tools (such as YouTube), and a variety of instructional technologies that can be deployed in an eLearning environment.

- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in educational technology, instructional design, education/curriculum development, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Also, three years of relevant experience.
- Experience in and understanding of the importance of working with students from diverse populations.
- Likewise, experience working at the community college level.
