General summary/purpose:

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer needed to provide direct technical assistance in monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning to Jhpiego projects and country teams as a member of the Actionable Measurement and Learning team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical leadership and guidance for measurement, learning and evaluation activities across a project’s life cycle
  • Supports capacity development through development of resources, tools, and provision of direct technical assistance and mentoring
  • Also, project teams with routine monitoring and evaluation activities, including but not limited to PMP development/refinement, work planning, budgeting for M&E, M&E system planning, DQAs, study design, protocol development, data analysis, and results synthesis and dissemination
  • Supports new business development efforts
  • Supports learning activities across the francophone portfolio
  • May supervise staff within the team

Qualifications for Vacancy for Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

  • Advanced degree in public health or related field
  • Also, 10 years of progressively responsible international monitoring and evaluation experience
  • Likewise, prior experience with capacity development and/or mentoring
  • Excellent understanding of donor systems, structures and processes, e.g. UNITAID and USAID
  • Also, prior experience supporting M&E for cervical cancer, malaria, MNH, FP and/or HIV and knowledge of PEPFAR reporting preferred
  • Excellent writer; prior role leading development of technical reports, peer reviewed publications
  • Furthermore, experienced in research design, implementation and oversight
  • Similarly, quantitative data analysis
  • Also, proposal development experience

  • Experience with compliance (e.g. IRB, Open Data) preferred
  • Likewise, power BI experience desirable
  • Team player who is comfortable working in a dynamic and evolving environment
  • Excellent communication skills, diplomatic
  • Similarly, strong change management and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and results oriented
  • Also, appreciation for socio-cultural differences in countries, preferably having lived and worked in one or more low resource settings
