Description:
Student Health Services is an accredited ambulatory health center that promotes and maintains the health of Aggies at Texas A&M University. Also, through education, disease and injury prevention, and primary and ancillary medical services, Student Health Services has dedicated staff who provide exceptional care for Aggies to be successful and healthy at Texas A&M University.
Required Education:
- Successful completion of an accredited educational program for Physician Assistants OR
- Similarly, successful completion of an approved advanced practice nursing educational program at or beyond the master’s degree level
Required Licenses and Certifications:
- Licensed in the State of Texas, or eligible to be licensed in the State of Texas as a Physician Assistant OR Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Nurse Practitioner)
- Note: Candidate must be licensed prior to start date and Licensure must be maintained for continued employment
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
- Also, knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
- Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy
- Additionally, ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to apply modern techniques of medicine
- Similarly, strong written and verbal communication skills
- Likewise, time management capabilities and prioritization skills
Other Requirements or Other Factors:
- Ability to exert moderate force and lift or move moderately heavy objects
- Furthermore, this is a security-sensitive position
- Moreover, the individual is required to handle PHI in accordance with the A&M System policy and is further required to complete HIPAA training as a condition of employment, within a reasonable time frame after the individual’s employment, and on an as-needed basis thereafter
Preferred Experience:
- Two years of experience in Women’s Heath or Family Medicine
- Likewise, related experience in a college health setting
Preferred Licenses and Certifications:
- NCCPA Certification (Physician Assistants) OR
- Also, board Certified in Family or Women’s Health Care (Nurse Practitioners)
- DEA Registration
- Furthermore, BLS Certification
Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of ICD 10 and CPT billing and coding principles and procedures
- Also, knowledge of electronic medical records software, including PnC
