Position Summary:

The Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine offers three dynamic MBA programs – plus PhD, specialty masters and undergraduate business degrees – that prepare business leaders for our digitally driven world. Duties

The Program Advisor, Specialty Masters Program Services, is a member of the team charged with recruitment, admission, academic advising, student services, and career management for the Specialty Masters Program at The Paul Merage School of Business. Under the general supervision of the Associate Director, Program Services, the Program Advisor is responsible for student advising and program services, working directly with students in the program from post-admission through graduation. Also, responsibilities include academic advising and program coordination/management.

Compensation Range:

Hourly Rate: $20.02 – $25.26

Qualifications for Vacancy for Program Advisor

Minimum of 1-3 years’ work experience preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Interpersonal skills. Also, the ability to multi-task; verbal and written communication skills. Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse populations. Skills in service orientation, organization, active listening, and critical thinking. Additionally, ability in problem identification and reasoning.

Preferred:

Knowledge of University-specific computer application programs and pertinent databases. Basic knowledge of student immigration and visa processes pertaining to international students and scholars. Also, knowledge of advising and counseling techniques. Likewise, understanding of University rules and regulations. Knowledge of University processes and procedures.
