Duties:

• Help to develop expertise in new and established techniques for sensitive detection of protein and nucleic acid biomarkers from human biofluids. These will include protein quantification using Single Molecule Arrays (Simoa) technology, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) for the analysis of circulating nucleic acids, and automation using liquid handling instruments.
• Also, with oversight by the senior scientist, will plan and execute scientific experiments. Order supplies and perform support and lab maintenance activities.
• Likewise, under the supervision of senior staff, present data and conclusions at meetings within the Wyss Institute.

Basic Qualification:

• College background in a biological science or related field is required.
• Also, at least on year of lab research experience in molecular biology or biochemistry

Desirable Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in biological science or related field is strongly preferred
• Also, experience with nucleic analysis and/or protein biochemistry preferred
• Experience with one or more of the following is advantageous but not as the requirements:
  •  ELISA
  • Likewise, next generation sequencing (NGS) library construction
  • Programming of liquid handling robots
  • Moreover, programming experience (Python or R) and expertise in computational analysis of large biological datasets
