Duties

The incumbent will have the following responsibilities

Security Monitors that work at the campus entrances provide vigilant monitoring for safety while welcoming guests, faculty, staff, and students using exceptional customer service to screen for authorized vehicular traffic attempting to enter the main campus through the gate. Also, assist visitors and university guests by providing directions and information with a high degree of customer service. Remain up-to date on functions and activities occurring on campus in order to answer questions from guests, faculty, staff, and students.

Similarly, security Monitors that work in the Snite, Basilica, Hesburgh Library, Entrance Gates and Main Building observe, protect, patrol and enforce rules/regulations that ensure the safety of items/facilities in their care. Also, they report unusual circumstances. Likewise, they control access and observe ingress/egress from the building in which they serve. They assist visitors/patron/staff and ensure rule enforcement. Monitors lock and or unlock, secure or provide physical security to those buildings in which they serve. They check doors, windows, and locks. They respond to emergency situations by following established guidelines.

Qualifications for Vacancy for Security Monitor 

Applicants must have basic computer knowledge and skills. Work schedule includes various hours throughout the day. Also, availability to work early and late hours along with holidays. Must be available on football home game Saturdays. Hours to work are 3:30PM to 11:30PM

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong customer service background

This appointment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check. Applicants will be asked to identify all felony convictions and/or pending felony charges. Felony convictions do not automatically bar an individual from employment. Each case will be examined separately to determine the appropriateness of employment in the particular position.
