Job Title: Success Coach

Duties

The Coach will have the following duties

• Empowers students through coaching to achieve academic success.
• The Coach provides a supportive environment that promotes personal growth and the values of the UM Creed.
• Also, introduces students to academic programs and resources on campus designed to support their success.
• Additionally, advises students in navigating university policies and procedures.
• Likewise, assists students with developing skills to successfully meet the demands of the university’s rigorous curriculum, including goal setting, learning strategies, time management and organization, self-regulation and self-efficacy.
• Likewise, he/she provides goal-oriented advising, early intervention, implementation, and follow-up for students in assigned caseload.
• Similarly, implements and maintains policies and standards related to academic coaching and personal support.
• Assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating new/transfer student orientation, first-year transition surveys, or related programs throughout the academic year.
• Also, collaborates with academic advisors to assist students in navigating myOleMiss (academic transcript and degree audit) to understand graduation requirements.

Qualifications for Job Vacancy for Academic Position

The Academic Coach will have to meet the given criteria

Education:
Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

AND

Experience:
2 years of experience related to the above described duties.
