Duties

  • supporting the core executive functions covering the custody and management of European Space Components Coordination (ESCC) and European Cooperation for Space Standardisation System (ECSS);
  • Additionally, expert engineering support to the ESCC standardization and qualification programme;
  • Also, support studies in the area of components standardization;
  • Likewise, supporting components evaluation and qualification programs, non-conformance and failure investigations;
  • Furthermore, supporting project-specific activities in the selection, characterization, verification, approval, and application of parts listed in the ESCC QPL/QML/PCA/EPPL;
  • Also, supporting the ESCC working groups and the Space Components Steering Board for all activities related to components standardization;
  • Furthermore, collecting, proposing and prioritizing all ESA standardization needs, external and internal, and their conversion into executive work plans, with the support of the ESA standardization bodies for each ECSS and ESCC domain;
  • Likewise, supporting ECSS and ESCC processes and the highest-level bodies within each domain.

Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in electronics engineering, physics or scientific disciplines is required.
  • Additionally, general background and specific experience in the technical domains covered by the position
  • Also, understanding of related technologies, R&D trends and the industrial landscape
  • Furthermore, experience in monitoring industrial activities, including participation in reviews
  • Likewise, experience with space engineering and quality standards, their preparation, and implementation.
  • Furthermore, familiarity with ECSS, ESCC and US MIL standards in the domain of space projects, component procurement, manufacturer assessments, and acceptance procedures following up/resolving anomalies and non-conformances.
  • Likewise, ISO audit experience is an asset.
