The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is an inter-governmental organization mandated with the widespread and increased adoption and sustainable use of all forms of renewable energy.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Director, KPFC and direct supervision of the Senior Programme Officer (Statistics), the Associate Professional (Statistics) will be responsible for the following duties:

• Data collection from countries using the IRENA Renewable Energy Statistics Questionnaire;
• Also, data collection from secondary sources, such as regional entities and industry associations to ensure the most up-to-date information on renewable energy statistics
• Additionally, checking, querying and analyzing data to improve accuracy and preparing the data for dissemination in various formats, including online dissemination through the REsource platform;
• Likewise, preparation and implementation of capacity building activities in renewable energy statistics, including the development of course materials and delivery of webinars and training modules;
• Furthermore, the performance of other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Applicants should be no more than 32 years of age at the time of submitting their applications.

Education: A first-level university degree or a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in statistics, mathematics, economics, engineering, or related field. A first-level university degree or a Master’s degree in other subjects may also be acceptable in combination with qualifying experience.

Experience: Experience in the collection, compilation, analysis, and dissemination of statistics. Also, a high level of proficiency in Excel and knowledge of VBA programming would be an advantage. Furthermore, experience in managing and manipulating large datasets and good knowledge of methodologies for energy statistics is desirable.

Language: Excellent command of both written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of other UN official languages is an advantage
