Duties

The incumbent will have the following duties

• Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Studies, and the general guidance of the
  Chief, Trade and Market Intelligence, the incumbent will:
• Also, assist in designing, organizing, planning and managing the collection, evaluation,
  analysis, compilation and dissemination of statistical data to compute export potential
  and related indicators.
• Additionally, assist in developing, implementing and managing statistical database(s) underlying the Export Potential Map web tools.
• Likewise,  in trainings and technical support on trade, market access and export potential analysis and other related information.
• Additionally, assist in the development of web content for marketing materials for ITC’s work on export potential.
• Furthermore, prepare draft technical documents for international, intergovernmental and expert group meetings and assist in drafting relevant reports.
• Assist in the organization of seminars, working groups and expert meetings.
• Guide, train and supervise junior consultants in the team.
• Also, perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for Vacancy for Associate Statistician

The incumbent must meet the given criteria

Education: A first-level university degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, sociology
or related field.
Note: The organization may accept an advanced university degree (Masters of equivalent) in statistics, mathematics, economics sociology of related field in lieu of the work experience
requirements.
Work experience: A minimum of two years of relevant experience in statistics finance,
accounting or related area preferably applied to the field of international trade desirable.
Previous experience in data analysis desirable.
Likewise, previous experience of delivering trade-related trainings in developing countries desirable.
Languages: Advanced English and Intermediate French or Spanish.
Additionally, knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
