Duties:
- Leading the HR Umbrella Program Management Team and the identification of strategic opportunities for HR Umbrella engagement, including engagement with different parts of the WBG and external partners;
- Likewise, leading the development of the work program for the endorsement of the HR Umbrella meetings;
- Moreover, managing the day-to-day work of the WBG staff assigned to the HR Umbrella Program Management Team, including the implementation of the HR Umbrella Communication and Visibility Strategy;
- Similarly, overseeing the activities of the HR Umbrella, including monitoring the implementation of HR Umbrella activities, the HR Umbrella disbursements, training activities, and monitoring and evaluating of the results achieved by the HR Umbrella activities according to its results framework;
- Nurturing collaboration and partnerships with interested external partners;
- Moreover, managing donor relations and overseeing all reporting to donors as well as other partners.
Selection Criteria
- Advanced degree with a major in a relevant discipline (e.g. Economics, Law, Political Science, Development, Human Rights);
- Also, a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience, of which a minimum of 3 years integrating human rights in development interventions in a country context;
- Demonstrated experience in the development and supervision of trust-funded operations;
- Likewise, track record of working effectively in a multicultural team environment with staff at all levels;
- Similarly, strong strategic and analytical skills, and ability to think innovatively and pragmatically.
Experience
The incumbent must meet the following for Vacancy for Program Manager in the USA:
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills and delivers messages in a consistently effective, timely, collaborative and engaging manner;
- Also, demonstrates an ability to work multi-sectorally, integrating human rights principles effectively into sector operations and policy dialogue ;
- Able to integrate divergent viewpoints of external and internal stakeholders into a coherent project/program/ strategy;
- Likewise, demonstrates sound knowledge of WBG’s Twin Goals, and understands corporate commitments in project approaches;
- Possesses astute political judgment, diplomatic acumen, and negotiating skills;
- Furthermore, experience in working directly with clients and other stakeholders in at least one World Bank operating region to identify key operational issues and solutions;
- Demonstrates a good understanding of the WBG’s development initiatives and policies and practices related to lending and non-lending operations;
- Additionally, demonstrates expertise in leading dialogue on human rights with high-level officials, donor representatives and other external partners.
