Apply for the Vacancy for Research Analyst at WRI in the USA . The incumbent will support WRI’s Sustainable Finance Center’s work on public finance institutions and in-country climate finance. Also, he/she will undertake research and writing on enhancing the Paris alignment of public finance institutions – especially the MDBs – including assisting in the development of methodologies for financial intermediary lending and alignment criteria for difficult-to-abate sectors.
Salary: $53,000 – $68,000. Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
Duties
The incumbent will have the following duties
Research and Analysis
- Undertake primary qualitative and quantitative research
- Also, co-author knowledge products (e.g. reports, briefs, data products) and communications pieces (e.g. blog posts)
- Implement methods that lead to robust and unbiased knowledge products
- Represent WRI and the Finance Center at internal and external meetings, and presenting research
- Conduct interviews, conducting outreach, and engaging external stakeholders
- Furthermore, review knowledge products written by other WRI researchers
Program Development and Administration
- Contribute to concept notes and funding proposals
- Likewise, liaise with external partners and WRI colleagues across programs and countries
- Additionally, organize internal and external meetings, workshops, conferences and other dissemination activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas or similar is required: business/finance (international, environmental, development or sustainable focus preferred), economics, public policy, international relations, international development, environmental science/studies
- Also, a minimum 2-3 years of relevant full-time work experience
- Knowledge of climate finance, international climate policy, and development/international finance institutions
- Furthermore, excellent qualitative and/or quantitative research and writing skills
- Prior experience writing research products
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and internet research
- Similarly, strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with teams of individuals and colleagues
- Also, the ability to deliver high quality work while under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in related field
- Also, professional experience in climate finance and/or international climate policy and familiarity with the Paris Agreement
- Furthermore, prior work experience in development finance and/or international finance institutions
- Similarly, Spanish or French language skills
