Duties

Reporting to the Head of Section and within the technical fields described above, your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

• providing expert technical support and consultancy to ESA projects, programs and general studies in the field of thermal control/cryogenics throughout all project phases;
• Additionally, participating in feasibility studies, project reviews and evaluation of procurement proposals;
• Also, performing analysis as required to support the thermal/cryogenic subsystem definition;
• Likewise, participating in thermal and cryogenics testing activities, and correlating analysis and test results;
• Furthermore, identifying critical development problems and assisting in their resolution

• General background and specific experience in the technical domains covered by the position
• Additionally, understanding of and practical experience with related technologies, R&D trends and the industrial landscape

Education

A Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in thermal or mechanical engineering or physics

Additional requirements

General knowledge of space thermal control analysis tools, e.g. ESATAN-TMS, as is a minimum of five years’ experience in the thermal domain and experience with related technologies.
