The Area of Culture of the Dpt. of Culture and Social Affairs of Universidad de Zaragoza, with the collaboration of Cinemaremagnum Servicios Audiovisuales, wants to announce the regulations for the 2024 XXIII Videominute International Contest with the purpose of stimulating creation in the domain of video-creation and animation.
Anybody who wants to enter the competition, alone or in groups, may do so as long as their submissions don’t exceed one minute (60 seconds), including credit titles. Any submissions received beyond that point won’t be accepted. Submissions made in previous contest iterations will not be accepted. Each participant may submit up to three videominutes. Videominuto will allow for free subject selection, with works of fiction, documentaries, and animation all possible.
In any event, commercial spots, teasers, trailers, and extracts from works whose main duration exceeds 60 seconds will not be accepted. Works that are not particularly designed to last no more than 60 seconds will not be approved. Any work that is presented in a language other than Spanish needs to have either an English or Spanish subtitle.
In any event, the participant will be liable for any claims relating to infringement of third parties’ image, data protection, honour, and privacy rights. Proposals that could be deemed hurtful, derogatory, or illegal may be disregarded by the organisation at its discretion.

The Department of Culture and Social Affairs at Universidad de Zaragoza will choose the jury members from among renowned national and international video makers and specialists. This jury will fill in any gaps or questions that may have come up throughout the selection process with its knowledge and judgement. A maximum of 25 of the best pieces will be chosen to go to the final, and the writers of each work will be informed of their status as finalists. All interested parties will be informed about the prize presentation and winner projection, and general communication channels will be used to spread the word.
The winners provide permission to Universidad de Zaragoza to record, aggregate, duplicate, and transmit the works they have been presented with, all while protecting their intellectual property rights. “XXIII Videominute International Contest. Universidad de Zaragoza” should be mentioned in the many publications, recordings, or public performances of the winning works.
