Details

The Annual World Press Photo Contest recognizes and celebrates the best photojournalism and documentary photography produced over the last year.
Enter your work for free and get a chance to win up to €5,000 as well as to have your work showcased to a global audience and more.

The 2022 World Press Photo Contest works with a regional system that includes six regions: Africa, Asia, Europe, North and Central America, South America, and Southeast Asia and Oceania. Entries will be judged according to the region in which they were shot.

Why should you enter?

The beneficial part of entering the Annual World Press Photo Contest is that it is absolutely free and open to all professional photographers working in the field of photojournalism and/or documentary photography. This will not affect your finances as well as copyright to the submitted work.
Furthermore, you can enter the competition as an individual as well as in a group.
Also, this year you will only have to choose between four categories: Singles, Stories, Long-Term Projects, and Open Format.
Most importantly, your work doesn’t have to be published to be eligible.

As a winner, your work will be:
  • Included in an annual travelling exhibition that is shown around the world in over 80 cities
  • Published on the official website and social platforms with over 2 million followers
  • Included in the yearbook
You will also receive:
  • €1,000 for each of the 24 regional winners
