ARIJ Awards for Arab Investigative Journalism 2024

During its annual forum, ARIJ recognizes outstanding Arab investigative journalism and applauds the integrity and professionalism of journalists who uphold high standards. The Arab Investigative Journalism 2024 award marks its fifteenth year, welcoming entries from male and female journalists across Arab countries and abroad, contributing Arabic-language investigations in collaboration with ARIJ Network or other entities.

Awards

The award includes the following categories:

• Best Arab Investigative Report – Gold Award
• Best Arab Investigative Report – Silver Award
• Best Arab Investigative Report – Bronze Award

There is no cash prize, but the first ten winners will be given an invitation to participate in the annual ARIJ Forum in person – as much as possible – which is an Arab and international training and networking forum. The award will also provide moral appreciation that will give the journalist a broad Arab and international networking in the future

Eligibility for Arab Investigative Journalism 2024

• Open to all male and female journalists who have published/broadcast their investigations in the Arabic language via any platform.
• All types of writing, digital, audio/radio and television, in all forms, templates and durations are welcome.
• ‘Investigations submitted for participation must be in the Arabic language and must have been published or broadcast between September 5, 2023 to August 31, 2024.

• Clarity of hypothesis
• Research and sources
• Risk calculation
• Construction and storytelling
• Data presentation and visual processing
• Law and ethics
• Use of language
• Accuracy, balance, clarity
• Extra effort

Application

Investigations published/broadcast between September 5, 2023 and August 31, 2024 will be accepted. The deadline for application is August 31, 2024.
