Canon Female Photojournalist Grant 2025 (up to €8,000)

Applications are now open for the Canon Female Photojournalist Grant 2025, a prestigious annual award presented for the 25th consecutive year by Canon and Visa pour l’Image to honor the exceptional work of a female photojournalist. This internationally recognized grant supports the completion of a compelling photojournalistic project and includes financial assistance, global exposure, and the opportunity to exhibit at the esteemed Visa pour l’Image International Festival of Photojournalism in Perpignan, France. The grant not only recognizes past achievements but also empowers women in photojournalism to continue telling powerful, impactful stories that shape our understanding of the world.

This year, they will be happy to present the work of Cynthia Boll (2024 Winner) on the social impact of the relocation of Indonesia’s capital city from Jakarta to the new capital, Nusantara, on the island of Borneo.

Grant of Female Photojournalist

• The 2025 winner will receive the grant with prize money of €8,000 to produce her project.

Eligibility for Female Photojournalist

• Open to female professional photojournalists;
• Must have completed at least one photo-reportage (published or not);
• No nationality restrictions;
• Must be able to communicate in French and/or English;
• The grant is awarded to individuals only.

Application

Applicants must submit a complete, anonymous dossier including:

• Signed application form
• Copy of ID or passport
• Affidavit of professional status
• Curriculum vitae
• Anonymous project description (max 1 page)
• Project budget, including any co-financing details (must be pre-approved by Canon and Images Evidence)
• Photo-reportage of 10–20 images in .jpg format:
  • Max 3 MB per image
  • Captions embedded in File Info (IPTC)
  • No photographer name or copyright info

The application dossier must be sent no later than May 21, 2025 and must be sent without acknowledgement of receipt to the following FTP:
