We invite students and young professionals around the globe to join the Carbon Footprint Challenge 2019 to bring that action. The Carbon Footprint Challenge is a UNITECH International initiative, enabled by its corporate partners Covestro, Bühler, and Evonik as well as nine top European universities connected to the Unitech network.

Who can Participate?

Everybody can participate in the challenge. However, only students and young professionals are eligible to submit an idea to the challenge. Young professional means that you are in the first five years of your career. If you are NOT a student or young professional, you can join the portal for inspiration and take part in the question blog helping the teams develop their ideas.

How To Participate?

Applicants may submit for ideas that can decrease the carbon footprint of manufacturing, industrial processes as well as for products throughout their entire value chain.

No fully elaborated business plans, ready prototypes or ideas that are already being commercialized.

It is also important that the team creator must have full ownership of the idea. Entrants may submit their idea in the following fields:

• Carbon compensation
• Process efficiency
• Sustainable energy sources
• Sustainable resources and raw materials
• Carbon sequestration technologies

Entrants will require to make online registration and share their ideas.

Deadline

Applicants may submit their ideas until July 07, 2019. A jury of experts will select the best 25 ideas that will advance to the next phase. The top 25 form teams and together with the help of experts and the community further develop their ideas. A jury of experts will select the 5 best teams to pitch at the final event where the winner will be rewarded.
