Schneider Electric opens call for the Go Green in the City international Competition. The Go Green in the City challenge is now entering its 9th year running and the 2019 edition is going to be even bigger, better and bolder! Hence, it is looking for students around the world who are willing to put their skills and ideas to test.

Schneider Electric is leading the Digital Transformation in Energy Management and Automation. We are always on the lookout for bold ideas that can shape the future of our industries and our company.  More than 80,000 students from 180 countries have participated in the Go Green in the City challenge over the last 8 years. In a team of two, present your idea to Schneider Electric. Make it to the finals in Spain and you could win the grand prize of a lifetime!

Benefit

• The winning team of Go Green in the City will win the chance to work with Schneider Electric. Also, they will get an all-inclusive international trip to two cities of their choice.
• The Top 8 teams will be invited on a fully sponsored trip to the Schneider Electric Global Innovation Summit in Barcelona to pitch for the Grand Prize
• Further,  you will receive an invitation to interview for Schneider Electric’s Internship Program.
• Participants will receive mentorship from Schneider Electric experts to polish their proposals and make it to the Grand Finale!
• One all-female team from the semi-finals will win the Women in Energy Award, securing a place in the finals and cash prize of USD $1,000.

Eligibility

Applicants in a team of two are eligible if

• Be a Bachelor’s (at least 2nd year) or Master’s student
• Study Engineering, Business, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics and other Sciences
• Location: worldwide (Team members must be studying in the same Region for the duration of the competition.)
• At least one team member must be a woman, in line with our Diversity & Inclusion philosophy.
• Be proficient in English (the Grand Finale pitch will be presented in English.

How To Apply

Candidates in a team may apply for the competition online. However, if you do not have a team member, you may still sign up to the Challenge as an individual by creating an account – please make sure you click “Participate”. Then, you can use the ‘Teams’ tab to find potential teammates, look through their profile, see who they are looking for, and message them directly by clicking the ‘Chat’ button.

However, when forming a team, you must be from the same Region as your teammate and at least one team member must be female.

For the Application Phase, your team must submit your PowerPoint Presentation. Further, the presentation should contain 10 slides and include the problem statement, differentiation, operational availability, team profile, etc.

Application Deadline

Applicants must submit their application including a powerpoint presentation slide by Saturday 25 May 2019 23:59 (UCT +0). No late submissions will be considered.
