British Council in association with Ashoka invites application for the fully funded Entrepreneurship Summit, Impact!Africa 2019.

Impact!Africa Social Entrepreneurship Summit is a partnership to accelerate social innovations to Africa’s most pressing challenges by inspiring as well as connecting social entrepreneurs, changemakers, investors, and other ecosystem stakeholders across Africa.

Building on the inaugural Impact!Africa Summit of June 2018 in South Africa, the 2019 Summit rides on the visions of both the British Council and Ashoka’s effort with Social Enterprises as well as Entrepreneurship in the Social Innovation space. Moreover, the theme of 2019 Impact!Africa is ‘Collaborative Finance for Social Innovation’. Further, it focuses on how to catalyze social innovation (social enterprise & entrepreneurship) in Africa.

Furthermore, the British Council and Ashoka invite candidates to apply for the Global Social Thinkers Contest, where the winners will receive full funding to attend Impact!Africa.

The Global Social Thinkers are individuals who desire a change in the world, and with the accumulation of knowledge and resources, steer the change to fruition. Hence, to participate in the contest, an individual will require to submit a 250-word story or a short video of their participation in transforming Africa.

Fully Funded Impact!Africa Entrepreneurship Summit

A panel of jury will shortlist 20 submissions. The submissions will undergo public voting which will determine the best 10 stories. Moreover, the 10 winning stories will receive a fully funded pass to attend Impact!Africa Entrepreneurship Summit. Further, the candidates will receive:

• A two-day pass to Impact!Africa
• Accommodation for the duration of the program
• A return flight ticket

Who is eligible for the Impact!Africa Summit?

Candidates eligible for the fully funded Impact!Africa Entrepreneurship Summit should be a Global Social Thinker. Furthermore, they should have been involved to make an impact on the African community within the last two years. Moreover, candidates from around the world are eligible to apply for the Entrepreneurship summit. Likewise, the candidates should be of age 18-35 years.

How to apply for the Impact!Africa Summit?

To receive a fully funded opportunity to attend Impact!Africa Summit, the candidates should participate and win the Global Social Thinkers Contest. In order to participate in the contest, the candidates should complete and submit the online form. Further, the form includes the section to submit the story as well as upload video. Participants must complete the form.

Deadline

Candidates can apply for the Global Social Thinkers Contest until 1 October 2019 in order to receive fully funded participation in the Entrepreneurship Summit.
