The Reach Cambridge scholarship essay competition offers fully funded as well as partial scholarships to outstanding high school students in order to attend its programs. Specifically designed for academically excellent high school students between the age of 15 and 17 years, this program offers them financial aids without which they may not be able to attend the programs.

Reach Cambridge has been successfully running summer schools and study programs in Cambridge since 2005. It is a private company that specializes in study courses and is entirely independent of the University of Cambridge. The program offered by the organization nurtures individuals who are seeking to attend Cambridge University for studies after high school.

Reach Cambridge determines the individuals for scholarships as to how they address the essay question. For 2020, the essay question for the scholarship competition is:

“What is the primary issue facing society today and what can we do to effect positive change in this area?”

Fully Funded Reach Cambridge Scholarship

The Reach Cambridge offers fully funded as well as partially funded scholarships based on the essay competition. The full scholarship covers the program fee for one of the 2-week Programs. For 2020, there are altogether 9 full scholarships available. Three scholarships are available for the summer session while up to six scholarships are available for the spring programs.

Further, a partial scholarship includes partial coverage (50%) of the program fee for one of the 2-week Programs in either Spring or Summer 2020.

Also, candidates should note that the scholarships do not include the cost of flights, or other items not ordinarily covered by the program fee.

Eligibility for the Fully Funded Reach Cambridge Scholarship

Reach Cambridge considers an applicant eligible to apply for the fully funded Scholarship via the scholarship competition if they meet the following requirements:

• Applicants must be between the ages of 15 and 17 years on the deadline, and currently studying at high school.
• The students must complete the essays independently – they must be original, non-plagiarised work.
• Applicants from fee-paying schools are only eligible for the scholarship if their recommendation letter confirms that they attend the school on a scholarship.
• The prizes provide, without charge, all those items ordinarily covered by the program fee. This includes accommodation, all excursions, lectures, theatre trips, workshops and tuition, and half board meals.

How to apply for the Fully Funded Reach Cambridge Scholarship?

Candidates can apply for the scholarship by following the link to set up a Reach Cambridge scholarship account. After registering the account, the candidates must log in to the main page and select the “Scholarship” tab on the left. Candidates then will require to provide the following to complete the application.

• Copy your essay into the box provided (the word limit is 750 words).
• A letter of recommendation from a member of staff at your school must be emailed directly, using an official school email address. This should be written on headed paper as well as should outline why you are a good candidate for the scholarship.
• A short video should be submitted in the form of a YouTube link as your personal statement.
• You must also complete the School Transcript, Signature, Parent Info, and School Information sections of your account.

Deadline

The candidates must apply for the Fully Funded Reach Cambridge Scholarship Essay Competition by 23:00 GMT on 17 November 2019.

Shortlisted candidates will be notified by 10th December 2019, and will be invited for an online interview.
