Applications for the GreenCape FNF GreenPitch Challenge 2025 are now open! GreenCape, in partnership with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, is calling on forward-thinking innovators and entrepreneurs to submit their economically viable green economy business ideas. This exciting Challenge offers a platform for visionary individuals and teams working on sustainable, market-ready innovations that contribute to a greener, more inclusive economy. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas, gain exposure, connect with potential investors and partners, and play a pivotal role in driving South Africa’s green economy transition. If you have a solution that addresses environmental challenges while creating economic opportunities, this is your chance to make an impact.

Enter your green economy innovation business idea to stand a chance of pitching to a panel of esteemed judges at a “shark tank-style” hybrid networking event, hosted in Cape Town in September 2025. Network with potential investors, business incubators, local government decision-makers and green economy experts.

Eligibility for GreenPitch Challenge

• Any green economy early-stage start-up (proof of concept e.g. pilot project running, looking for first round of seed funding) or Pre-growth (registered and trading, with sales – looking for series A funding) phase businesses, based in South Africa.
• The green economy sector can include renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, water, sustainable mobility, circular economy and waste management.
