Sony World Photography Awards 2019 is a free-to-enter photography competition with a variety of themes. Moreover, the Awards are a global voice for photography and provide a vital insight into contemporary photography today. For both established and emerging artists, the Awards offer world-class opportunities for exposure of their work. With the power to kickstart and shape careers, the Awards provide those working in photography a global stage to showcase their work. In addition, the Awards recognize the world’s most influential artists working in the medium through the Outstanding Contribution to Photography award

The objective of the Sony World Photography Awards is to establish a platform for the continuous development of photographic culture. The Awards do this by recognizing great contributions to photography in the past through the Outstanding Contribution to Photography prize as well as finding new talents of the future and providing them with the opportunity to promote and exhibit around the world.

What prizes will the winner receive?

Industry experts from across the world judge the Sony World Photography Award. The photography competition has a total prize fund of $60,000 (USD). Additionally, the winners will also receive the latest Sony digital imaging equipment.

Further, four professional and three students will receive the grants of $7,000 (USD) and $3,500 (USD) each so they can continue developing their projects.

Who Can Enter in the Sony World Photography Awards?

The Photography Awards is open for all. Further, there is no entry fee. Hence, anyone around the world can enter the competition. Further, photographers can submit their work in four categories.

• Professional – Recognizing outstanding bodies of work
• Open – Rewarding exceptional standalone images
• Youth – Celebrating the best single images by emerging photographers aged between 12-19 years-old
• Student – Providing a platform for photography students worldwide

How To Enter the Sony World Photography Awards?

The Sony Photography Awards 2019 is free to enter. Hence, anyone may enter the competition, whether it is a professional photographer or upcoming photographers.

To enter, you must upload your image via the World Photography Organisation Website or any of the official Sony World Photography Awards’ websites. The entrants should specify the category in which s/he is competing. Moreover, the uploaded image must be taken in 2019. Also, the entrants must adhere to the photography submission rule as the upload images should be larger than 1MB and smaller than 5MB. Further, the images should be in the sRBG color model in JPG format.

Deadline

Entrants may make their submission for the Sony Photography Awards 2019 until the deadline set as January 7, 2020, at 13.00 GMT.
